Topic: How to Point your Existing Domain to your New Site

This page is for agents who aleady own a domain name and need to point it to their new website. If you do not already own a domain name, the easiest way to get set up is to have us register a domain name for you. The charge is only $50 and you'll own the name.

If you already own a domain name and you want us to point it to your new site, we will do this for free. You'll need to send us the URL of your domain company (ie: www.godaddy.com, www.networksolutions.com, etc.) and the Userid and Password you use to log in. You can use the secure Customer Service page to send us your info.

For the rest of you brave souls...

Pointing your domain name to your new site varies depending on where you purchased your domain name. Some companies allow you to alter your DNS (A records, CNAME records) settings others only allow you to change your Name Servers.

If you do not have access to DNS and you can only change your Name Servers, change them to ns1.dnspark.net and ns5.dnspark.net. Then notify us of this change. You can notify us via Customer Service.

If you are allowed to change your DNS settings here is what you'll need to do. Create a CNAME entry (also know as HOST ALIAS) for www that points to www.proagentwebsites.com. This will allow any traffic going to 'www.yourdomainname.com' to be routed to your new site.

You may also want to create an A record (also known as IP Address) for 'yourdomainname.com' which points to IP address 64.105.230.146. This way if people forget to put 'www.' in front of your domain name they will still be directed to your site.
